Nice place on the river with scenic views. We did some family pictures along the river with the mountains behind around dusk and they turned out great. There were also multiple other groups doing graduation, family and wedding photos as well. Nice place to explore with open areas, tennis, play complex, skate park, picnic areas, etc.

Bring the kids! I absolutely recommend this lovely area where you can walk along the river and play on a giant area of grass with trees (no dogs allowed on the grass) and lots of play structures. Picturesque.

On this visit there had just been a fresh snow fall and the park seemed to still be in hibernation mode. However, it is easy to see what an amazing playground this really is. Located right on the Yellowstone River it allows for easy access to all the activities the river offers. The park has large green areas suited for any number of outdoor activities. There are tennis courts as well as a play area for young children and plenty of picnic tables making it easy to spend the day for all ages. Shaded benches along the Sacajawea Canal beckon reading a good book on a lazy afternoon. The walkway along the Yellowstone Rive provides a place to stroll or power walk. This is a great place to enjoy outdoor Montana at its finest!

The area has a park with playground, but the outstanding feature was the river walk. People walk their dogs there. We enjoyed walking a total of two miles on the river walk. We saw children playing and swimming in the river. There were beautiful mountain views. It’s a great way to enjoy nature. I only wish it had been longer.

Fabulous place to take kids of any age. Plenty to do. Areas for swings, sports, playground (big and tot), picnic tables, shade and plenty of parking. Oh— and clean open bathrooms! We went twice in our 3 day visit. Right next to Yellowstone River walk also.

As many times as we have been to Livingston, we had never see this park and were completely unaware of it. It is truly multipurpose offering everything from baseball fields to swings, It boasts a permanent stage for performances, a riverside walk, a large reflection pod, and a really large and nice play area for kids and a smaller section for toddlers. It haws a fire-pit, horse shoe pits and everything in between. It is quite large and very quiet.

If you are traveling along interstate, this is a nice park alongside the Yellowstone River to stop and relax. It's also a great place to picnic.

...but the No Dogs Allowed signs kept us out. C'mon, Livingston, can't you open up at least a section of this cool oasis to those of us responsible dog-owners who will pick up after our pets and appreciate this park?

Three days of terrific music, food and good times. Weather was perfect and beer was cold---what else do you need in Montana?

Livingston, Montana's Sacajawea Park is very beautiful with views of nearby mountain ranges & the Yellowstone River. Sacajawea Park is a great place for "family & friends get-togethers", picnics, playing ball games, tennis, riding bicycles, feeding the waddling ducks & Canadian geese or just walking along the banks of the Yellowstone River that was explored by Captain Clark & Indian Guide Sacajawea of the “Lewis & Clark” Expedition in July 1806.
Check-out Google Images for "livingston montana sacagawea statue" and you'll likely want to visit! Awesome place! In the summer months there is a nearby City Pool for public use at a very reasonable price for the entertainment. Farmer's Market selling fresh produce, & local goodies (such as Neptune's Micro-brew) & bands on Wednesday late afternoons in the summer months.
Sacajawea Park "Summerfest" is a family-friendly three-day outdoor music festival on the banks of the Yellowstone River since 1999, offering some great entertainment for "a ~$20 weekend ticket of FUN (2013 price)" with vendors selling food, drinks & micro-brew beers.

Yes it is, in the lagoon or 100 yds. away is the Yellowstone river. Can get a license in town at Yellowstone Gifts off Park St.

No swimming in the lagoon. I live here and it’s full of fish and Ducks and Canadian geese. There is a public pool at the far end of the lagoon that gets a lot of use.

(though I have not been to any of these) There's Garnet in Drummond, MT, Junction City in Custer, MT, and Limestone in Nye, MT. There was one in Wyoming you could visit about twenty years ago – I went when I was a teenager. But I believe Marlboro/Philip Morris bought it and made it their own retreat.
