Yes, it is beautiful, The Lake is clear, scenery, well, breathtaking, especially at dawn and dusk. This place has most everything, except showers. I would have rated this a 5 star, but when you have a lot of people vying for space, they can become rude and intolerable, close proximity, you can hear a lot, children crying, talking( although they... We love this Lake. It's scenery is absolutely gorgeous. There are not too many places to stop and Beach but when you find them it's definitely a gem. You must go through the gates of the mountain when you visit.

Mountains, Lakes, Big Sky, Huge Sun! What more can a person ask for? This is a must top by and if the weather permits, bring a picnic and settle in for the afternoon. Lovely.

Nice place to set out for the day and check out the scenery along the Missouri River and the lake. Wildlife is abundant and is a nice place to take your camera and capture the beauty of Montana.

This has to be the prettiest lake this side of the Rockies. Great fishing and camping and the views are spectacular. There are two campgrounds that are usually pretty busy. Lewis and Clark traveled through here July 19, 1805.

This is a great place to come camping and fishing. The price is good there is not power or dumping but the view is awesome.Campers are not too close to each other and you get to pick your spot. The bathrooms are ok could be cleaner but Ive seen worse. I would highly recommend people camp just for the views.

Take the north road into Halter if going to the lake and the south road if just wanting to see the Missouri. Such a beautiful lake and setting. If you need restaurants or the ability to get into towns quickly it might not be for you. However a big clear lake at the foot of mountains wonderful.

We love the campground. It's well run and well maintained. We use the tent sites. The only thing I don't like is that we have to move our tent after 3 days so the grass doesn't die. We also have to leave for one night after 7 days, but then we can come back again for 7 days. There is... More

We visited Holter a few years ago and caught our limit of walleye! In between, we hooked several perch and a couple rainbows. When the fishing slowed down, we rode the boat through the gates. Positively stunning views of the mountains over the lake. On the banks of the lake we were able to see bighorn sheep and mule deer.... More
