The Capitol building itself was beautiful and we took the self guided tour. However, a tour by someone from Montana would be so much better as we like to tour the Capitols so we can hear the history of the state. We were told that...More

A self guided tour of a beautiful building with views of the town. Do go if you have the chance. The building is so well kept and ornate.

We visit capitals whenever we can. The legislature meets every other year which was surprising. We had a nice conversation with a young woman in the Governors office.

The building is pretty and there is no metal detector. There is not much artwork in the building. The tour is self-guided but there is not enough historical information available about the state or the building.

What to do after breakfast from your B&B? Take a ½ mile walk to the Capitol and amble around looking at the gorgeous renovations done not to long ago. "The People's House" is relaxing and interesting.

Parked in front for free! Didn't even go through a metal detector to get in. Tours are self guided. It's a beautiful, and very colorful, building.

This is really a neat building. The tour is free and self guided and it is real nice ,lots of stairs ,some statuary inside and just over all very beautiful. Parking was easy. Really nice grounds great for a picnic.

The building is amazing. It was once a guided tour, but is now self guided. They could do much better by preparing more historical documentation, but it was still very nice.

We did a self-guided tour of the Capitol, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We just wish there had been some decent restaurants in the area.

There are many historic treasures whenever you enter a State House. This State House was built in 1902, and the people of Montana should be proud of their State House. My one negative is that they don't offer a tour. Most states I attend usually...More

You need to go to the capital's website for this info, they do not hold session every year.
