We just happened to enter the Cathedral when someone was playing on the pipe organ. Shortly after that, the church bells rang out for 12 noon. Beautiful and impressive, worth stopping by to visit.

Just three blocks up from historic Last Chance Gulch, this church is well worth a visit while in Helena (even if you aren't Catholic!). Built with money from the gold mines of over a century ago, the stained glass windows and lavishly painted interior are...More

This, without a doubt ,is the most beautiful church I have EVER seen. The stain glass is jaw dropping and the building itself is incredible, this is a must if your visiting Helena.

Beautiful sacred space. Loved the pagentry and ritual of morning mass, prayers, singing, and communion. Welcoming congregation. Ornate and intricate interior, stained glass, and architecture. Would love to return when tours are offered.

Definitely worth stopping here to admire the wonderful architecture of this building. A little difficult to find without a GPS but we zig zagged through the streets to eventually find it. A Sunday morning, so a church service was underway which made it more attractive...More

The Cathedral of St Helena is a must see in Helena. I would put it up against the cathedrals in Europe. The stain glass in the Cathedral is amazing! Must see in Helena.

We visited the afternoon of Good Friday, the parishioners were just getting ready for a Station of the Cross service. We enjoyed the activity and the beauty of this church.

Helena is an unlikely location for an elegant cathedral such as this. Built in the glory days of gold mining wealth, it really is a must see for visitors and locals alike. It has an open door policy for visitors and is really worth a...More

This question is too broad but if it is church related I would say the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica in Rome

This may sound silly but is the inside of the church open to the public? thank you

It was open when we were there on a weekday afternoon. I suggest you just go there. If it is not open, then wyou will still have seen some interesting houses along the way.
