These beautiful little brick cottages were built for an upscale place for the miners to stay instead of makeshift cabins ,lean twos and tents.

This is a very narrow walkway off the main street called Last Chance Gulch. The street is paved with bricks and the buildings are mostly made of bricks. Built by a mason in the late 1800s. The buildings provided housing for the male miners. Nice to see that they have been preserved by the community.

We were in town for just one evening. We sought out Reeder's Alley based on reviews I'd seen online. I'm glad we did. It only takes a few minutes to walk around, but, you could spend more time if you wanted really taking in all the shops and displays. It was a fun place to see. We enjoyed it. We... More

We had a couple of hours to kill in Helena while waiting for some laundry, and checking TripAdvisor, Reeder's Alley caught my attention. It looked like a place we should check out, and wasn't too far from Last Chance Gulch where we were, so after a quick drive over and then under Morelli Bridge, we took a walk down the... More

I was looking forward to going here but there is not much there. The renovated cottages were lovely and well done to the ladies who organized the conservation. The history centre explaining everything was closed though and the artists gallery I wanted to visit was also closed. Bit disappointed really.

Interesting story behind Reeder's Alley but by far the best part was the information provided by the young woman at the Information Centre. She informed us if a free concert at the Women's park and what a nice evening we had. Thank you!

This was unexpected for somewhere in Montana, it felt like we had stepped back in to some corner of the UK - possibly like being in a small old mining town in Wales. But it's only a very small area which is a shame.

Reeder's Alley is an unexpected area in Helena. It is basically an old, short, winding street. The layout and the houses are from an era gone by. Nice to walk through and view, but do not expect much more.
