Had a great time on this very interesting tour beneath the streets of Havre, Montana! There was a miniature railway set up and lots of interesting things to see while waiting for the tour to start. Once we walked down the stairs, it was a...More

Visited here on a very hot day but stayed cool underground. An amazing collection of businesses represented and original to the site post a major fire on 1904. Auto repair, butcher, baker, dentist, bordello and much more. Tour is guided by knowledgeable staff.

How does a town survive devastating fire?? Move businesses to the underground basements and continue. It is a fascinating walk through the different businesses, seeing the museum pieces and learning about the isolation of certain ethnic groups. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The promotional literature claims that this is a recreation of an underground town that sprang up after fire destroyed the businesses above. Some of it is, and these rooms are very interesting. However, many of the rooms are just collections of donated bric a brac...More

Never saw anything like this. Guide w as knowledgeable and it took about an hour. Part of wild West history that isn't really talked about. Learned a good bit.

So I'm giving a review of my own town and a very unique attraction that you won't see anywhere else. In 1904 a fire destroyed roughly 55 different businesses in the rough railroad town of Havre, MT. So instead of rebuilding many businesses used the...More
