Unique!

Very unique place. Go and plan to get off the roads and hike around. Striking geological formations. Keep your eyes open for fossils.

I went and took some photographs here. I loved the park. The trails looked cared for, but as everything was melting it made it hard to get around them in the mud. The road is in bad shape with pot holes and stuff. Would not recommend a low vehicle, I did not explore very far because of this. It is... More

Makoshika State Park is a very cool place. We enjoyed our drive through the park. Now, we want to return to do some hiking and to experience the trails. This is a beautiful and unique area. The geology is amazing.

We enjoyed driving to the end of the road and looking at the sites. Took a short walk before heading back to the visitor center. We were disappointed it was closed but we walked around the nearby trail; that was very pretty.

This park is easy to access, and has nice well marked trails ranging from pretty easy to moderate. It's a must see if visiting Glendive and the surrounding areas. It's well kept and a good way to experience the badlands and prehistoric formations.

We loved this park. A little tricky to find. It seems out a ways but worth the time to get there. Very unique scenery with sandstone hills. Lots of hiking and a small dinosaur fossil still in the ground.

When we were there in September, we mostly had the place to ourselves. In between the rain storms, we ventured out on almost all the hiking trails. Ahh, the silence, the beauty...we loved it! There is a very nice visitors center worth visiting!

Our kids took us here on a visit. Very beautiful views throughout the park. Enjoyed a picnic and did a little hiking around.

This is our second trip here because we really enjoyed the park the first time. It is as wonderful and scenic as most USA National Park. There was a small fee to get in, as most USA state parks charge. The formations were breathtaking. We did not see wildlife,

As far as hiking, scenery, and just getting away this is the place to go. They also have frisbee golf there. And you can have cook outs too so you can do almost any outdoor activity.
