Very interesting tour of the Berkeley Pit viewing stand. I remember going to the original Viewing stand on Anaconda Road(?) when I was young. Great part of Butte's history--a must see for a small price.

Interesting place with interesting history. Nice gift shop with lots of copper items. The viewing area is nice and shaded. Good placards with information about the formation and demise of this type of mining.

Interesting stop, very well appointed. Lots of interesting historical information on hand and unique views of a working mine. Gift shop, canteen and washrooms on site, as well as a lovely covered pic-nic area.

The kids were greatly impressed. It is an eye catching sight and the family enjoyed it very much. Look forward to returning to take a tour.

Interesting to learn about the history of mining and the environmental effects. Watch the segment on Jon Stewart's Daily Show about it. Nice gift shop with copper items.

It's a strange place, but for $2 it's worth a look. Everyone else has pretty much summed it up. Giant toxic water pit.
