The Mineral Museum and Montana Tech was wonderful. The gems and minerals on display were amazing, and the visit was free to the public! well worth and hour or two of time.

This is a one floor exhibit in a university building that features a wide collection of minerals from around the world. Famous gold nugget and the donated collection from William Clark. This is a nice 30 minute visit, or more if you're a fan.

The museum has an extensive collection of minerals and crystals together with clear, interesting information. The dark room where you can see fluorescent minerals is especially engaging.

Quick visit late in the day. Manager John was personable and shared history of the museum and stories of the collection. Great view of entire uptown Butte from parking area.
