The whole area being restored from the mining was interesting and worth the stop. The Memorial Overlook provides a beautiful view and reminds us of the struggles for immigrants.

It is hard to picture how over 160 hard rock miners died in this mining accident but it is well explained and honored the heroes of that day almost 100 years ago.

A group of us were attending a 3-day training. One of them was a Local and he took three of us to this memorial. I enjoyed catching a glimpse of Butte's rich mining history from the perspective of a Local.
