Our family of 6 had the most incredible time with Julia as our fearless guide! It was all of our first time white water rafting and it was the perfect amount of adventure, excitement and beauty. Seeing a bald eagle flying overhead at the start of our trip added to the amazing experience.

Very scenic drive with incredible views. Easy access in and out. Convenient as an entry option to Yellowstone NP, good dog options for walking, etc.

Snow beautifies any landscape. Well, this one really is gorgeous. Hills, river, forests etc. The river is obviously the centerpiece of the views. A long stretch is protected land inside Yellowstone NP. Caution that the road is also dangerous, especially below Big Sky where folks often are tanked up after skiing, mixed with flatlander rookie drivers in the mountains who rented non-4WD-non-snow tired vehicles, ugh, watch out. Still, would definitely return again and again, as worth the risk ;)

I was staying in Big Sky Montana and we went to Yellowstone for part of several days. The last few days it snowed and for someone who lives in a place where it never rains and snows it is Beautiful scenery along the highway.

I couldn't capture the beauty in a picture. Such an amazing area! Would definitely return! Hopefully with more time to drink in the beauty of the area and see more wildlife!

There is a lot of pocket water and riffles and falls. You cannot walk along this river much. You have to pick your spots but there are plenty. The fish are not all that big. But the canyon is stunningly beautiful for several miles above and below Big Sky.

We spent four nights at a cabin in the north end of Gallatin Canyon and experienced one of the most memorable summer getaways ever on our first venture to Montana. The August weather was perfect from the low 80s in the day to the mid 60s at night. (The high that week in north Texas was 104F.) The views along the Gallatin River between the Gallatin Range and the Madison Range are spectacular. The river offers rafting, hiking trails, fishing, camping, and more. Gallatin Gateway is a convenient locale to visit Bozeman, Big Sky, and Yellowstone. This is now on our short list of places we will return to visit.

We drove along it on 2 different occasions. It is just so pretty as it rushing along the side of the highway. There were a lot of people fly fishing & also rafting. Just people enjoying the beautiful weather. Loved seeing it.

Truly a blue chip fishery in the Western states. Plenty of roadside access, and not too challenging to wade. This lovely river features excellent pocket water, nice tail water, and a fine selection of riffles. With the many turnouts, pick your favorite water and enjoy. There are no drift boats, so it’s perfect for wading. Not too big and not too small. Loved it.

There are many pretty rivers in the west but this one may be my favorite. I first drove along it on my honeymoon 29 years ago before flying out of Bozeman. It’s so enjoyable driving along the road with constantly shifting views of the river but even more delightful to stop and spend some time on its bank. It is full of peaceful energy.
