With the mission "to ignite and sustain lifelong science and technology learning", the Saint Louis Science Center is one of the top five science centers in the United States, and has been named one of the Top 10 Science Centers for Families by Parents Magazine and one of America's most visited museums by Forbes Traveler Magazine. The complex includes over 56,000 sq-ft of interactive science-technology exhibits that are part of the Science Center's free general admission. Opening in June 2016 is GROW, a one-acre outdoor exhibit that will take visitors on a journey of food, to gain a deeper understanding of our food supply. The Science Center's ticketed areas include the OMNIMAX, a four-story IMAX Dome theater; the James S. McDonnell Planetarium, one of the world's largest planetariums; and the Discovery Room, an activity area for families with younger children.

This place is great! Some of the paid centers are well worth it! Plenty to do! Lots of different things to explore! This is a St. Louis must see!

I was a great trip and I love that you only have to pay to park your car. I would call before hand to see if they are have anything new going on b/c that can sometimes changes what you can see. I love that they have a build a bear in there with the dinosaurs and some other special... More

Many hands on interactive displays. Huge dinosaur exhibit that has moving neck/head that roars. Their is an Imax movie but we stuck with all the free exhibits which kept us busy all afternoon! Food available but I suggest bringing a picnic lunch and eating on the grounds the site of the St. Louis World's Fair.

I live in Kansas City and our science center is TERRIBLE compared to this. I took my daughter who was 6 at the time and my friends son who was 10 at the time. They both had a blast and didn't want to leave. This was something they did not even want to do because they thought "science is boring".... More

Extremely crowded with elementary aged children and there families, but still fun. They have multiple different sections including: Ecology, Dinosaurs, Human Body (including a section to play researcher), Physics (building bridges, etc), and Space Travel. I've gone here multiple times with college aged friends and later with my spouse. We've always enjoyed it. This time we paid to see the... More

While my husband and I found this place to be interesting, our 3 and 7 year olds got a little bored. Our 3 yr old son loved the T-rex but that was pretty much it. Our 7yr old was able do somethings but not enough to pinpoint her favorite part. While this place is great, it is definitely more suitable... More

We went with our young grandchildren, all under 5, and we still had a great time. There were many activities to keep them busy, and many activities for older children as well. We didn't get to experience the I-Max theater or the Discovery room (a separate charge fore each), but would have if we had more time.

We spent a few hours here with the kids on an afternoon and they really enjoyed it. The exhibits were informative, and were all working (which is not always the case at frequently visited science museums). And free! Amazing.

Thanks for visiting, and for your kind words about our exhibit condition. Our crew is very proud of maintaining so many exhibits - particularly with over 900,000 pairs of hands on them every year! Come back soon. -John Wharton, Managing Director of Facility Operations More

Great place to spend the day. So much to do and the best part is it's FREE! Parking is $10 and the movies are extra however there is so much to do we didn't even have time for the movies. Fun for all ages.
