Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

I know a lot of people who love this museum. They say it's a great place to take their small children and their teens. I know adults that say this is a fun place to go for a date. I was underwhelmed, but it just move in my mood that day. I know it is a favorite spot for many... More

My sister in law planned a trip for my 3 boys as their Christmas gift. I tagged along. We spent 10 hours in the museum stopping only for dinner. My boys are 7,9 and 14. We also had adults ranging from 28-50. We all had an amazing day! We were super active as we explored the creative and interactive displays.... More

Although granddaughter (2 yrs) was a little to young to totally appreciate, even us adults were amazed. There are so many activities and places to explore. I have seen places like COSI, but this place was differently amusing and well laid out.

We took a group at 28 7th and 8th graders for an end of year trip. They were hesitant at first since many had never been, but shortly they were all smiles and sweat. Our group stayed there about 5 hours and it was a good time. The only hiccup was that as more people arrived some of the workers... More

This will take the whole day for you and your children to explore. There are so many levels and do much to do. Bring a flashlight and knee pads for the cavern part. Your child can crawl through and you can walk if you don't like tight spaces. It is truly a wonder!

This is a family favorite. When our kids were little they loved it, even thru High School they still had fun running thru the tunnels and climbing through all the different areas. Sometimes hard to keep your eye on the little ones if you aren't willing to climb thru the tunnels too.

Love this place! Everyone will like the city museum, from children to older adults and all in between. Love the architectural displays of historic building facades.

This place is undeniably cool, however, I have never felt comfortable there with my children. Unfortunately, because it's cool, it draws crowds of all ages and often times the older teens are running around paying very little attention to smaller children which is quite dangerous in the caves and some of the outdoor activities.

We knew there was going to be a couple of slides so we came expecting small exhibits and activities. It was a lot more chaotic than we thought it would be. The City Museum is a giant playground with an art exhibit upstairs, an exhibit with bugs, and there was a small bar with retro games such as pinball and... More
