Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

No words can describe the intricate details and never ending holes, stairs, and slides. The caves were crazy, scary, and sensory overload. If you can make it up the stairs, the 10 story slide is worth it and I screamed the entire way down. Everywhere...More

I had mixed feelings about going here with my teenage twin sons. I had read the reviews but I was worried about how much my son who uses a walker would be able to see and do. Surprisingly, many parts were accessible to all. Of...More

Our cross country team has stopped by the City Museum the last two years while heading to a national meet. It has been a big hit with all the kids and a lot of the parents join in as well.

We took our 3 youngest girls here to play for the afternoon, and yes the adults got caught up in the fun as well. Plenty of things to climb in and on and through. We will definitely be returning here to play and will be...More

Spring break St. Louis, the City Museum is a must. The roof was closed, but we did the outside climbing and inside caves. My 11 year old twin boys loved it. We lost them once in the caves inside. I would recommend a meeting spot.

The City Museum is one of the hidden treasures of downtown St Louis. While it can be a little chaotic, our kids (age 7, 9, and 12) loved it. So much active stuff to do.

We go to city museum everytime that we come to St. Louis, even if the kids aren't with us! There is so much to see and do and it is a very eclectic kind of place. The kids loved crawling through the caves and going...More

This place is fantastic, joyful and pleasant but in my view, it should be required for a parent to taking of their children because the site made by some part of iron and metal. It could be hurt easily without caution. Overall, it beautiful and...More

Just for age reference - I am 23 and went with my husband (6'3", 22), my sister (21) and her fiance (19), and my brother (16). We had a blast! It was such a fun Thanksgiving weekend activity for us. Not-so-active or older adults would...More

Friday evening will be the least crowded time of the holiday weekend. We do allow kids in after 5 pm, we just require them to be with an adult 18 years old or older.
