We happened to be there on the day of the Blessing of the Fleet. The parade of boats went on for a long time. Each year there is a theme and this year was Sports. The area is nice anytime of the year. It is worth a stop if you are in the area. It is located by several marinas... More

Beautiful place to stand by the Mississippi River. I love taking pictures of scenery and wildlife. There is a great road on the Illinois side to drive. Great scenery Make sure it is not flooded when you go.

Beautiful shrine, in peaceful setting. Lovely to set there and watch the river traffic. Not much of anything else around, but only a few miles to Grafton. Small country roads getting there part way. Would be worth a visit if in area.

A must see. 12 miles from St. Louis. This is a different light display (with over a million lights and life size religious figures), being a religious Christmas winter wonderland of lights. You can "travel through time" from Bethlehem to Calvary. It's a drive in your car for a mile and a half trip or enjoy a horse drawn carriage... More

This one is a bit of a drive from nearby Saint Charles, but its well worth it. If you're looking to get away for a bit, and not deal with a crowded town, this is a great place to go. A solemn area of nice peaceful reflection, plus a coo walking path, and a great monument with an interesting story... More

Not exactly on the main road, following the flood of the Mississippi River, the local parish built a shrine to gratitude Virgin Mary for her protection their city. A very mice view of the river a path with tablets on stones leads to the Statue of Mary on the bank of the river

As a child we would always go to the Lady of the River and have picnics. Back in the day there was actually a very nice picnic area at the grounds of the Lady. We had a large family and would gather there with other relatives and bar-b-que for the day. Us children would spend the day running up and... More
