When we moor in West Stockwith basin it is always with an air of anticipation as means we will pass through the lock and onto the river next day. A visit to the White Hart for their microbrewery tops it off

The Lockeeper here is a mine of useful information if you happen to visit when he is on duty. There is a lovely selection of buildings with a lot of history behind them worth taking a proper look for the clues

This is a delightful place to visit at the junction of canal with river Trent. Riverside scene of village buildings, marina basin, and panoramic river scenes. Neighbouring church is open for visitors, and good hospitality at the White Hart Inn. Excellent amenity.
