we went to all the island museums at Kingston area. we were amazed at the hardness and difficulties experienced by the convicts and free settlers to make a foothold across the 4 settlements - Polynesians, 1788 - 1st free settlers, 1825 - convicts and 1856 - Pitcairn Islanders well worth the modest fee to see the world heritage listed sites.

All museums age excellent! However, they have a lot more in storage that could be on display if they had the correct floor space to expand. A shame that we only see a small amount on display.

One of the 4 museums in the Arthur's Vale area which each present a different aspect of the island's history. Each one is worth visiting in its own right and you can also get a more personalised point of view on one of the tag along tours.

We went through this building on a Tag A Long tour which is included when you buy the Museum Pass (Great Value). The tour guide was so thorough and informative and it was a really fascinating building. Make sure you go through the church at the top of the stairs (It is always opened) as it is so beautiful.

One of the four museums which is included with the Museum Pass and definitely worthwhile visiting if you are interested in the history of Norfolk Island, especially the convict settlement.

This is one of the four small museums that are all worth a look - and you can visit and revisit in your own time as well as tag along on a guided tour (well worth it). The church upstairs above this museum is also well worth checking out with the guide. I loved that each of the four museums... More

We went twice to this museum, $25 for a 4 museum pass, which entitles you to visit many times. It has Polynesian artefacts and much material abouth the two convict settlements on Norfolk Island. Don;t miss this!

A great introdution to the island archaeology - particularly the Polynesian period. Don't miss All Saints church upstairs. Not promoted heavily, but the Pitcairn community converted this convict store for use as the communities church (C of E)
