To visit this place is purposeful as it is not exactly a roadside attraction. It IS worth the effort. For those choosing to drive from Kansas City to Memphis, it is at about the half way point so, it makes a nice stop. Some may grumble at the price however, you have no time limit like you will at other... More

A few years ago we were in Mansfield, my old home town and we visited the Laura Wilder Museum, and to my surprise as I was reading a letter from Docia Holland a former resident a fellow walked by. For some reason he looked familiar, and I walked over to him and asked if he lived around the Mansfield area... More

I am a huge fan of Laura's books, so a visit to the home and museum has been on my bucket list for years. The property is beautiful. I would have to agree with another reviewer and say that the visit was almost spiritual. I can't describe the feeling of knowing that you were standing in the room where Laura... More

I did not expect to be so moved and emotional at this attraction. I read all of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books as a child and reread some of them to my children as an adult. Actually seeing the things that Laura made and the place where she lived was overwhelming and I found myself speechless much of the time. I... More

Loved the museum, the farm house and the rock house. This brought back wonderful childhood memories of my favorite books. Loved seeing Pa's fiddle after reading about it for years. The farm house was lovely. Everything has been preserved nicely. Tour guide was great. Must see for fans of the books.

It was so refreshing to go back in time, this was such a good experience, I've always admired Laura. The property is beautiful and quiet. The employees are so kind. Would love to revisit again.

We thoroughly enjoyed the museum and tour. If you are a fan of the movies or the books, this is a must visit place. There were 3 elements of the visit: the newly opened museum, the farm house and the house that Rose Wilder built for her parents. The museum offered a short video, plenty of artifacts and a gift... I love reading about Laura's life, her daughter Rose, and the "Man of the House", as she described her husband in her Farm Journal writings. Seeing the homestead up close was very interesting, nostalgic. I was never a fan of the TV show and hearing from the very informative guides that she did not have a TV was absolutely wonderful,... The tour guides were amazing and informative. I liked the video introduction to the museum and the museum itself was amazing. Very reasonably priced and lovely new buildings. It's been a dream to visit the historical places of Laura Ingalls Wilder.
