Glad we were able to fit this in to our schedule. We were in Missouri for a family funeral and on our way back to the airport to come home we stopped in for a tour. We love church history and this is an amazing site to visit. The missionaries here are very well informed and this was a very... More

An excellent place to learn history and have a spiritual experience. It's a place I enjoy going as a teenager and adult.

The presentation by the missionaries here is interesting and inspirational, and best of all brief. We enjoyed the visit, which allowed us to see the history that we have heard about in Sunday School for years.

This is the second Mormon(LDS) site I have stopped at and like the other the history here is very interesting. The site and presentation are very well done. The rebuilt jail sits on the exact site of the original jail. If you have an hour or so to kill this is worth the stop to hear the story. I'm not... More

Whether you're Mormon or not, this little museum is interesting. It is the jail where Joseph Smith was incarcerated for a time. Touring the place, you'll learn about Mormonism and the history of its beginnings.

A very nice interesting history stop. Lots too see and learn about for the jail history. If you like that sort of thing, you'll really enjoy it.

The Liberty Jail is a very enlightening experience. It is a sad story in part, but a very spiritual story, as well. The tour guides are excellent and the recreation of the historic site is wonderful

The liberty jail visitors center isn't much to look at from the outside but the experience you will receive inside will forever change you. The volunteers have a vast knowledge of the history of the area and the time this jail represents. While you are this close, make sure to visit the Independence Missouri LDS Visitors Center as well.

My son and I were looking for something to do in Liberty, MO and found information online about the Historic Liberty Jail tour. We found the location and went inside and that's when we found out that the site is ran by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The tour starts with a 15-20 minute presentation by one...
