The inside of Willmore Lodge was closed sadly, but we walked down the path to a gorgeous view of the water and surrounding houses. The gardens were beautiful and made for nice family photos. I recommend visiting this area for the scenic views!

What a great find this was, I have gone twice now with my Dad and brother and alway so interesting. My Dad loves seeing all the ledgers of the prices of foods ordered during the building of Bagnell Dam.

This beautiful building owned by Ameren was built for workers to stay in while Bagnell Dam was built. It houses a very informative museum to walk through with the local history is featured. It also houses the Chamber of Commerce and many functions.

This is a must at least one time. You learn about the area, and are educated about the lake and what changes have gone on over the years

What a gorgeous setting and interesting story. The grounds are beautiful and the original building is very well kept. While "free" there is a "guided tour" that is still a bit of a mystery to me. Janet walked us through the four "private room" museum,...More

My husband didn't really want to go (not a museum fan), but this is not a typical museum and it does not take long to go through it. Was really interesting to see how the dam was built and the lodge itself is a very...More
