I have been to this library a couple times, and every time I go, it fails to impress me. I am not saying in any way that the library is bad, but it doesn’t have anything that makes it stand out at all. I have...More

While we didn't go in the actual library, we LOVED the parking structure, which is decorated on the outside like a row of books, and the concrete steps, which resemble stacked books. Well worth stopping by for some pictures!

My wife and I decided to take a walk from our stay at the Hotel Phillips, on our first day in Kansas City. And luckily, we came across the Library. It is a nice building, perhaps more interesting from the outside, because the interior has...More

This is a beautiful library downtown KC. Whenever I'm there I always enjoy it. Good coffee shop there, also.

This place has very interesting architecture. I was very surprised that it did not have a bigger used book store or a map of the interior at the entrance. I was able to get a library card within a couple of minutes. The parking garage...More

Okay, yes, it's a library, but there is a vault downstairs and amazing children's section upstairs, impressive architecture everywhere, life size chess on the roof and of course, books. Even the parking garage is cool. Check it out!

From the giant books painted on the side of the garage to the marble and wrought iron inside this former bank building, it's exciting just to walk into this library! Thanks to the Kemper Family, this former bank building has become something of a landmark...More

Did you know that the huge books on the outside of the parking garage are known across the globe as a "must see" for book lovers? This is a gorgeous library that offers local history and a ton of great events.

Wandered in by accident while walking around enjoying the architecture. Amazing re-purposing of an old building.

We were there looking into their genealogical archives and could've spent a few more hours in that section. I would've liked to have had more time overall, but it was our last stop before the airport.
