Kansas City has a lot going for it, and it's not all BBQ, stockyards and stock cars. I've enjoyed various local symphonies in several cities, as well as traveling European orchestras, and I find the KC Symphony very impressive. The venue at Kauffman is equally...More

We attended the performance of Handel's Messiah. What a beautiful venue. The chorus and orchestra as well as the first soloists were outstanding. Absolutely the best Hallelujah Chorus I have ever heard. Great way to start the Christmas season.

We went to the Symphony and heard Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn. The guest conductor was Bernard Labadie and featured Robert Levin. First, let state the obvious - the Kauffman Center is world class! One should go just to enjoy the surroundings and the concert hall....More

Always wonderful. Beautiful building. Great symphony. Sound is amazing. Really fun to sit "over" the orchestra and watch the musicians.

Our family had seats at the very top balcony in the back, but really, they felt like best seats in the place! Acoustics were extraordinary and we could see all the action very well, smack center from above. We really enjoyed the music, from Liadov...More

While my 5 year old was more interested in finding food afterwards, he did enjoy the one performance at the end! I, however, thoroughly enjoyed the architecture, the festive atmosphere, the entire experience (minus my complaining child).

The KC Symphony has been improving steadily over the years. They have a great combo of heavy and lighter classical works, in addition to pops performances and well known musical entertainers. So, the season has lots of variety. The highlight of my visit was their...More

We were presented with a gift of season tickets and ended up disappointed overall because the choice of music more often than not was something obscure and/or simply not very "musical." Instead of a majority of pieces being classical favorites most people would recognize and...More

I'll openly admit I'm a little biased when it comes to the symphony - as a classically trained violinist I would always recommend you go! This is really no exception except the caveat that the building is amazing. Even if the symphony isn't your favorite...More

We attended this performance as part of our office Christmas party, and what an experience! The acoustics in Helzberg Hall are unrivaled, and the musicians and chorus were top shelf. Great views from the center grand tier. This was the first performance attended by the...More
