About
Enjoy the solitude of an undeveloped cove hidden along the shorelines of one of Missouri’s largest lakes. Swim, fish, boat or simply take in the view from a shady campsite or picnic area overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks. The park offers the opportunity to enjoy a variety of recreational activities on the lake, on shore or underground with a tour of Ozark Caverns.

We were in the area for a shooting competition and wanted inexpensive accommodations. We decided to camp at the nearby State Park. It did not disappoint. The prices were great and the campground was clean and well maintained. The only disappointment was many of the people in neighboring campsites had no respect for others. Loud music and laughter at all hours, which was especially annoying after 10 pm. We were never given clear directions upon arrival, so we didn't know that we couldn't get wood later in the evening. We had to run into town, which isn't too far and pick up wood from the Hy-Vee. We'd stay here again if back in the area. The restrooms were decent, but unsure of how frequently they were cleaned. The wildlife was abundant in the park as we saw many deer throughout our stay.

This is a large (200 +/- sites) campground in proximity to Lake of the Ozarks. The mostly asphalt sites are off asphalt access roads with a mixture of back in and pull through spots. Most sites are not level either front to back, and/or side to side. This is a fill your water tank on the way in, and dump your holding tanks on the way out place. No included cable tv, no included WiFi, very few OTA stations (no national networks), and because it is so heavily treed - almost no chance for satellite reception. Verizon cell service was very weak. The dated showers are fiberglass (2 per gender) with plenty of hot water - however the shower head seems to be designed for someone <5’!

This was a nice place to visit and commune with nature while staying in Osage Beach on the Lak e of The Ozarks. It was a short drive from where we stayed, although we had some difficulty finding it. Our GPS had no idea where it was (though it claimed to) and it could have been better marked. However, with the use of a paper map supplied by our resort, we did manage to find it.
Admission is free and there are a number of nice beaches and trails. We hiked the Fawn's Ridge Trail and a bit of the Lake View Bend Trail.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park is a beautiful park with a lot of outdoor activities. Many hikes with stunning settings are nearby. They offer yurts in their campgrounds which are a nice way to camp without having a camper, and you don’t have to sleep on the ground in a tent. Definitely will go back again.

We spent two nights at Lake of the Ozarks State Park and have to say it’s on my list of favorite campgrounds. We had electric hook-ups. We were in campsite 140 and even though it wasn’t a lakeside campsite, the views was beautiful. Look for campsites in section 4 close to the lake. We brought our paddle board and paddled around the lake, others were kayaking. In a couple of weeks the leaves will be spectacular. A lot of the area businesses were closed due to lack of help. I highly recommend this park.

The state park is huge! The beach was very clean, several picnic tables and chairs for families to enjoy their lunch. It was not crowded and the weather was perfect. The family had a great time. Dogs are allowed in the park but not in the beach area.

Have always enjoyed going to this park. But I have to say that this year it is hard to get into it to camp (or any other park for that matter). But there are trails to go on also and we always enjoy stopping by the C Store to get ice cream. There is also a small marina and beach area along with shelters for picnicking.

Since I'm not a camper or boater or Spring break-er this park, though nice, isn't really that special to me. There's lots of Ozark hills with trails spread around the southern half of the state. Tourism is highly developed at LotO so many people's idea of a vacation would be well supported by a wide range of motels, resorts, golf courses, restaurants, tee shirt shops, swim-up bars populated by dubiously legal-aged partiers ignoring COVID-19 suppression guidelines, and go-kart tracks in the nearby towns. Bacterial infection from the polluted water in the Lake is the number 1 item on the list of possible dangers on the official state park warning signs.

stayed at spot #29 it is right on the pass through to leave campground. Everyone leaving the campground will pass by ur spot FYI. That was not fun. We hung a clothesline up and hung beach towels up. That helped to sustain some sort of privacy. There is water at host camp to fill ur tanks. No water at campsites. No sewer at campsites, Only electric. Dont pay for Premium electric. It is no different than just electric. you can drive less than a mile to a beach area to swim. There is a little store. They dont sell hardly anything. We saw lots of deer in the mornings. It rained hard one day and the lady next to us had a tent. her entire campsite was under water.
