    Was ok
Not overly impressed. The lady who served us was quite rude in regards to the kids being there, I understand some kids may grab at the displays but there is a polite way to say that kids are to stay with their parents. A lot of work and effort has gone into the display, glad we saw it once but wouldn’t go out of my way to see it again.

    A delightful look at history
What a delightful surprise. We spent two days in Hobart including the Hop on Hop off tour and general walking around. Our final morning we went to Richmond for breakfast and to see the village. The Old Hobart Town Model was so much fun especially as we were a little familiar with the current look and the streets of Hobart. Clearly a lot of time and effort were put in to making and maintaining this visual treat.

overpriced for a family and a condescending peanut behind the counter
Arrived to a lecture from the guy behind the counter,(lighten up) clearly not a fan of children a little overzealous about his stuffed toys, The antics of the miniatures are a little far fetched but the work in it is to be commended. I think its a money grab at most. Go in for a look but dont touch anything in the gift shop.

    a snapshot in time
The detail and humour in miniature showing what Hobart was like was very enjoyable. we walked around a couple of times because there was always something you noticed that was different. Whilst the people are static which is like capturing an image in time there is moving water etc. as well as flapping in the wind washing. We originally didn't have time to see this but when our tour to Port Arthur was delayed we came back.

    Hobart in miniature
A very clever re-creation (in miniature) of old Hobart town as it was in the 1820s. Definitely worth a visit. Easy to find and plenty of parking available. Good gift shop too. And Richmond is a great place to visit.

Cute little Village, but very overpriced! I think $17.50 per adult isn’t warranted. Not too many people visiting whilst we were there.

As others have reviewed, it was expensive for the time spent, but the gentleman whom served us was just rude in the manner with speaking to my children whom were well behaved and looking to spend some of their pocket money ( I refused to spend any of their money because of this) he spent time explaining what they had to find to get a sticker but when they told him their findings ( they missed the baby Tasmanian tiger only saw the adult one) He then proceeded to write on the sticker ” almost found” my son is 5 ! You just don’t treat visitors in this manner.

I loved this. My Dad and I spent quite a while comparing the streets now to the streets then. I learned a lot. May be a bit expensive for the time it takes but it was worth it for me!

Fun and very cute. We came here with the kids many years ago but decided to visit it again today even without kids. We enjoyed it very much again and appreciate all the detail to attention which was put into creating the village and the beautiful way it is maintained. It’s a fine history lesson into how Hobart was many years ago. There is a lovely little gift shop too.

Probably our highlight was a visit to Old Hobart Town. It is what it is, a scale model of Hobart of the 1820's. Everything is 1/16th of the original and it really is superb. A clever addition was a challenge to find four figures somewhere in the display, set for children but it had all of the adults on their toes. I ended up trading information with a German tourist who needed information I had. It was a lot of fun. Its easily the best of these type of attractions we have seen.
