The Great al-Omari Mosque is a hulking presence from the outside. Severe in architectural style with clunky buttresses, it looks more like a church than a mosque. Try to go outside of prayer times so you can get a look inside.

This mosque, by far the oldest in Saida, was well restored to its pristine old self after the Israeli invasion of 1982. It's a beautiful window to 14th century architecture and has a beautiful authentic feel to it. A must see.
