Gorgeous!

Think about that one of those days Mongolian troop all the way from China and reach Golden Gate. And Now Chinese congested to Golden Gate as tourists!

This early gate is listed as one of the attractions of Vladimir. It is OK but bot to be compared to St Demetrius for example which is a gem of early architecture. It is worth seeing due to its age, but do not have too many expectations.

A spectacular piece of architecture and history in the city centre. A must do attraction for anyone visiting Vladimir.

This is one of the more prominent sites in Vladimir standing at one of the former entrances to the walled city (walls have been removed around the gate to allow modern day traffic access!) There is a museum display inside the gates according to our guide, although we arrived too late to gain entry on the day we visited Suzdal/Vladimir.... More

It, certainly, symbol of the city and its most recognizable sight. It is interesting both appearance, and an exposition inside. Especially it concerns a diorama "A capture of Vladimir by the Mongolian army" Also there is a strong impression if to pass through gate. Lifting up can be difficult for people of advanced age.

I stayed in one hotel near to this gate. They say you can get lucks if you walk through this gate. Why not walking through the gate? Check your lucks and fortunes in Vladimir.

The Golden Gate is a symbol of Vladimir. it is impossible not to meet it when you arrive in this city because it's located in a cross of important roads. Very impressive is its picture of Christ that seems to look at the visitor.

Even though it was originally built in the 12th century, it was taken apart and put together again under Catherine the Great in the 18th century as it was falling apart when she led her army through the city. Sadly, it is placed in a roundabout today with a lot of traffic, but it remains a beautiful piece of architecture... More

We had a friend of a friend take us around Vladimir and he proudly showed us his heritage. The view from the top is amazing!
