CAC Mijas is a small but interesting collection. Finding the gallery is a bit of a challenge as there are no signs. There is a charge of 3 euros for entry but the staff are helpful. The gallery consists of two rooms. On the ground floor is a a fascinating collection of about 40 Picasso ceramics but the collection of pictures on the first floor is a bit disappointing with only two by Dali and one by Miro and others. It is worth a visit as part of your day. The shop has a few items for sale but this is not the Tate.

So nice to find this little place while wandering around, pop in if you're out and about in Mijas Pueblo - it's nice to mix it up while strolling around the shops

There has been quite a bit of hype about the new museum and for me it wasn't quite met. The gallery is lovely and the lower floor ceramics is a very important collection. It is the upstairs that disappoints a little. There is nothing to bring the works to life such as videos or basic contextual info about the artist. A bit of an opportunity missed but for 3 euros it isn't a bad way to spend half an hour

Its €3 to enter the Art Gallery, which is an amazing bargain. There are only a handful of artworks to see and it is set across two fairly small rooms and the works are only from two artists HOWEVER, these artists are Picasso and Dali.
Its a fantastic place to visit.

Just by the Hermandad de la Virgen de la Peña, there is this small exhibition building with only three rooms. We were lucky enough to admire works by Picasso and Dali. Something not related to the town, unless you associate Mijas with Il inferno de Dante, which is most unlikely, by the way.

The best part is that it's free. I had to leave my backpack to info desk or carry it on the front side which was just silly. They gave all the stickers to put on the clothes which was also unreasonable in my opinion.
The museum is one big hall divided by walls which hang mostly paintings and photos on the walls. Open hall makes space noisy. There were some other pieces which made exhibition more interesting. There wasn't any place to sit down for a moment. Taking photos were not allowed but many people took pictures by phone anyway. Museum was shortly discovered. There was some kind of cafe and small shop which didn't offer us much.
This is the place to visit if you like modern art and you have rainy day or you need cooling inside on a hot day.

This well presented small museum exhibits top quality examples of wonderful Picasso and Dali ceramics, drawings and paintings and a few Matisse paintings. Such a surprising find in this village. Good views of the area from the roof just another bonus!
