Got the bus from Fuengirola bus station. M122 takes about 1/2 hr costs 1.55 euros each. Nice selection of Bars and Restaurants including The LemonTree from TV show, was nice to see them in the flesh! Lovely shops bars restaurants. We watched the free Flamenco show. We went Saturday it's about 1 hour long by bandstand as you go into Mijas. Starts at 12pm. Fabulous, lots of costume changing, drama and foot tapping. Some kids that had flamenco dress/outfits on were taken onto stage which was lovely. There is a lovely square by the Bullring. A beautiful place I actually didnt want to leave. The town, the streets, the people so lovely. You can get a bus from there to Coin M221 if you want to visit there or can go direct from Fuengirola on the M221 to Alhaurin el Grande or Coin. Nice bus ride on a steep incline with great views!!

Essentially a tourist trap, with hundreds of day trippers arriving by endless buses roaming the place and vying for souvenirs and overpriced burrow/horse rides! So many leather shops selling the same goods! I personally think the whole place is akin to a theme park. * the Contemporary Art Gallery in the historic area is worth a visit.

Mijas Pueblo is set up in the hills above La Cala worth the effort driving up as its all very original white washed buildings.

A mix of traditional shops. Cafe bars and restaurants.

It's worth exploring the narrow cobbled streets you never know what you will stumble on for example I found a church dating back to the 17th Century.

Happily spend a couple of hours sat in one of the cafes people watching

Super cozy little town in the mountains. Definitely worth a visit. We took a tuctuc around the city and got to the highest point and took pictures. You can also get around by donkey and horse. Small cozy streets. All houses white and with beautiful flowers on them. Lovely restaurants are located side by side. Definitely a must see - real Spanish atmosphere.

This is an adorable white washed town that is small enough to be easily walked and enjoyed. There is no need to have donkeys standing chained up all day or worse having them cart able bodied people around town. By riding in a cart, you miss all the cute things in the hidden corners of a town. We saw a cute stairwell that we would have missed on the main roads and we were able to position ourselves to see the wonderful sunset that evening by walking on a pathway. The shops close early in the off season, so if you see something you want to buy, get it on the walk to the top of the town.

The town could be beautiful enough to spend the whole day, but it breaks our hearts to see those animals, donkeys and horses, with the heat it is standing there or passing through the streets exhausted. I hope that ends soon, the world moves on. Please, responsible tourism, do not use them, walking through its streets is beautiful, on foot

Visited Mijas 20yrs ago, beautiful, unspoilt village. Now overrun with tourists and massively over-builtup. There are still however some pockets of the old quaint charm, white buildings, donkey carriages and amazing views. Lots of craft shops

Evil people who threat donkeys bad ! 24 hours a day with standing with a rope around theorie head. More worse are the smiling tourists, for them just a smiling selvie with a donkey. I ‘m ashamed for being a human.

The village is beautiful and has a lot of charm BUT we do not understand that the abuse of these animals is allowed in these times. Where are the animalists? Donkeys getting the heat and the sun holding the cart dressed in paraphernalia and tied until customers arrive to continue with the mistreatment to make them throw with them and the cart. The poor scratch themselves with the same irons that bind them. Denigrating. As I looked at them I wondered how long I resisted that life?
Please do not use this service, tour the village on foot.

A quaint, scenic, high-density town in the county of Costa del Sol Occidental. Tourism could be its major source of income. Very touristy. Nice views of the coastal and surrounding area.
