The inside discovery area is clean, organized, and informational for all ages. The outside hatchery is well taken care of and provided plenty of room to move around. Bring lots of quarters for fish food and there are great views of the dam.

After several days of emptying our wallet in town, I was ready for some of the free activities. Definitely worthwhile. There are lots of critters to see, and a guide showed us a two-headed snake. Bring dollars bills or quarters to feed the fish.

Not a lot is free in Branson, but this free spot is well worth the time with it's interesting displays of huge trout.

I admit... I'm a science geek. This place is super neat. Especially getting to see and feed the trout. The educational center is very informative and my kids really enjoyed it. The lake dam was following too which was super neat to see. Definitely worth...More

We love feeding the fish (bring quarters). And since I am a birder, we spent a lot of time there viewing ospreys, bluebirds, hawks, blue herons (there is a rookery across the river), thrashers, and mockingbirds. This is by far my favorite place in Branson!

My wife and I decided to stop by the hatchery one morning for a visit. We've visited several hatcheries in the past and even volunteered at one for a summer, so we enjoy seeing how different hatcheries present themselves. Shepherd of the Hills has a...More

This is free and great for adults and kids. You get to see the trout at different stages of life. The kids love to feed them and they learn about trout and how the lakes are restocked. The view of the dam is amazing and...More

An hour, depending on attention span or subjuct interest. It may also be interesting to walk the river bank to see the fly fishermen fishing. Be aware of quickly rising river waters when the gates of Table Rock Dam are... More

We did not see a gift shop. There is an attendant inside the office to answer questions, etc. And there is a small room that shows a video / informative movie that plays every 30 minutes or so... But nothing to buy.
