It is a dam designed to control flooding along the White River and provide hydro electric power to the area. The drive over the dam offers nice views of the lake as well as access to a very nice visitors center, complete with information on...More

There is no better time to see Table Rock Lake than when the ten gates are open as the Corps of Engineers tries to regain control of a lake that holds WAYYY too much water. This happens very seldom, as Table Rock is a flood...More

The dam and surrounding area are definitely worth exploring, and provide a nice respite from all the paid attractions in town.

We crossed the dam on our way to dinner. I am not sure if the utility company offers tours of the facility or not but would be worth considering.

We drove over the dam to get to Big Hunter's Restaurant. When we were going over it, we saw an amazing view, one you cannot beat!

Great form and function. The use of a bluff to extend the dam and the remote spillway were clever engineering.

Traveling on Highway 165, the beautiful Table Rock Dam came into view when the highway actually crossed this high, huge dam. This dam looked brand-new, but it was built in 1958. Beautiful photos of this dam were taken by this passenger riding over the dam.

Yes anyway downstream of the dam. Artificial bait only. Right where the hatchery exits into Taneycomo is very popular.
