I frequently visit this park to exercise in a relaxing, beautiful place. Hiking, horse trails, biking, picnicking, and plenty of swimming holes without overcrowding.

Been through there several times, but never camped there, just always wanted to. Very beautiful in the late fall. Quiet.

I love this park. It is one of my favorite MO state parks. It is a lovely campground, and some of the sites are very big, and back up to the woods. The Big River runs behind the campground, and is nice to play in during warm weather. One of the park's trail heads is in the campground which makes... More

I camped for the weekend with a group of friends. We had pull through site on the edge of the camp that boarders the big river. Sites are not right on top of each other and the access to the river from our spot was perfect. We spent the day fishing for small mouth and returned to swim to a... More

We went and tent camped at this nearby state park for the second straight year. It has many nice flat sites for tenders and I believe each, electric site for RV's and 5th wheels are concrete pads. That's a huge plus for this state park. However, the bath house was much dirtier than last year. We arrived around noon on... More

My family of 4 camped on the electric side and had a great time. The people watching the camp site were very polite and came around frequently to see if we needed anything. The showers and restrooms were always clean. There are great hiking trails along the river. I absolutely love the events that are held at the amphitheater, they... More

We have visited this park multiple times over the last decade as a place to spend the day picnicking, fishing and wading in the shallows of Big River or in the creek within the park. It's an easy drive from St. Louis for us. However, we've observed this park must not be getting the funds needed to maintain it because... More

My kids, 7 and 5, my mother and I hiked Mooner's Hollow Trail. It is approximately 3 miles long. It was fantastic! The boys LOVED crossing the water. We brought our water shoes so we could add to the adventure. Make sure to bring your water shoes! We found a couple smaller very beautiful waterfalls over some enormous gorgeous rocks.... More

Just spent the weekend there. I was very happy with our experience. Campsite was nice and not clustered too close to neighbors. River access was convenient. Trails were a nice change of pace. And, after all those activities, the shower in the bathhouse was amazing. Make sure you bring a heavy duty extension cord if you get an electrical site.... More
