We have come here many times during the Covid-19 pandemic. We pick up food from restaurants and bring it here to get away from the house. There are many picnic tables and covered pavilions when not reserved. Feeding the geese is a bonus!

The Bonita Lakes Park is a beautiful area!! Great for a picnic, walking, gathering. The large lake in the back is the prettiest, in my opinion.

We don't have a lot of hikes with hills in South Mississippi. This is a well maintained trail with lots of good up and down hills. Great place for families with children of all ages. Lots of picnic areas and activity areas for kids. You can spend all day there or just hike the trail in about 2 hours. If you are traveling across Interstate 20 through Meridian this would be a great place to stop and take a break from driving.

I fish in the upper lake quite a lot. It's become neglected and crime-riddled since our city's current mayor took over. There's many auto-burglaries here. One only has to read the local incidence reports in the local newspaper to realize how regular it has become (you won't see it reported on the local news station). Also, it seems to have become a meeting spot for the local gay community. The lady who used to live beside me actually walked up on 2 men having sex on a nature trail there (she was with her young daughter). I've also heard similar stories from many of the fishermen I meet there. And, you wouldn't believe how littered the ground is with used condoms, in certain areas. Police presence? Sure, if you call a cop driving thru on the main road, from time to time, with his windows rolled up and the air or heat blowing full blast. I doubt he could hear anyone screaming.

This is a great place to walk. It has a good surface. There are places to sit if you get tired. Many people power walk but it is also good for the casual stroll. The summer is too hot though

Outstanding trails. I walked a 6 mile loop around the lakes, some on hard surface, some on crushed stone. All were in excellent condition and all were well signed. This is a gem of a park.

This park is great for families to walk , use the playground , feed the ducks . There is a walking path along the large pond . No dogs allowed to walk along the pond . But you can walk your dog in the woods along the hiking trails . Great place go jog , walk or just enjoy the outdoors . Very pretty place to take pictures around sunsetting on the water .

Bonita is one of meridians hidden treasures. I love to go to Bonita and exercise, the trails are amazing!! Great climbing hills and beautiful view while doing it.

This place is also great to bring your kids to feed the ducks, fish or play on the playground.

Drove all day and just wanted a spot to walk a few miles. This lake has a 1.19 paved walking/running trail around it. The park was very clean, very safe and very relaxing. Parking was zero problem. If I had more time I would have explored what looked like nature trails. Looked like they have a nice playground was available for the kids too. Will visit here every time I'm in town. The one interesting thing is they have the most ant hills I have ever seen. Hundreds of ant hills, but they are all off to the side of the track. Just be careful!
