The main exhibit, The Mississippi Story or something, is terrific and free. This state is better renowned for its music and literature -- check out the visual art!

It's not the biggest or the best art museum, but it is worth the trip, especially when they have special exhibits or events.

We actually went there for a special dinner. Food was great and we met some really nice people. Loved the art! The mural in the entry was really interesting. I was surprised that this museum was so good!

I took a student group to the museum and was amazed at the talent in the Mississippi Story room. The traveling exhibits that come occasionally are also excellent!

MMA has a solid permanent collection as well as important touring shows that come through. In addition, it hosts many arts events, from live music, to films, to art lectures.
