A stark tribute to Mississippi's war veterans, with a courtyard that replicates the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and a museum devoted to the state's military history.

The building is the only thing you can check out... It's never open according to its schedule. Seems like the culprit may be a lack of funding. It's such a shame, the architecture is awe inspiring along with its inscriptions.

Art Moderne building constructed in 1939-1940 next to the Old Capitol Museum. Honors Mississippians who fought and died in foreign wars. Great architecture combined with sculpture and bas relief scenes. Close to the State Capitol and Governor's Mansion.

This is a very subtle and somber memorial that is next to the Old Capitol Museum, yet it's also poignant in it's elegance.

The entire building as near as we could tell is dedicated to honoring Veterans, but on a Thursday afternoon the doors were open but no information available as how to tour. Spent 15 minutes there.

I am always interested in war memorials, but this place doesn't offer much. The architect/structure is decent, but nothing going out of the way for. There is no information/plaques to read, so save your time and go elsewhere.

There are a handful of reasons for visiting this memorial: 1) if you are in general interested in how events are memorialized. This is done in the Art Deco style and even though I did not see a specific date I assume that this was...More

What a beautiful monument. It gave me goosebumps reading the inscriptions. And that was only outside. We couldn't go in as the place was closed. Don't forget to see the "Thank you train" down the hill in the back.
