Located in a 1915 schoolhouse, under the large live oaks, just blocks from the beach in Gulfport, MS, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is a special place for children and their grown-ups. Inside, 15,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits encourage fun, learning and creativity. Discover different cultures at Celebrate the World We Share, board the train at Dolan Avenue Depot, and create a mini masterpiece at our art studio, Art Knows Anything Goes. Outside, oak-covered acres provide more space to let the imagination run wild. Play house in the trees, tap a tune in the outdoor musical garden, and explore the tiny town of Kids Street. Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is honored to be a recipient of the National Medal for Museum and Library Services, which recognizes exceptional contributions to the community.

We found ourselves in the unfortunate circumstances of having to find other activities during what would have been a beach vacation. Someone recommended Lynn Meadows for my preschoolers and glad she did. It was just what we needed to entertain them on one of the very chilly vacation days. It has a ton of activities for toddlers to elementary school... More

My kids loved this museum and so did we! It is very interactive. Lots of hands-on learning. There is an art studio where they can create. There are exhibits outside as well. Very nice set up! Also a great place for a picnic.

We had a blast here. Our daughter is 18 months and stayed busy. Tons of creative things to do. Will go back.

Very welll done and detailed, small but nicely ran. Nothing specific to geography of Biloxi or the ocean, but kids lived it

This was a great place to go and spend a rainy day morning with the kids. There were lots of neat little "play stations" set up around the building where the kids could dress up and use their imaginations to run a grocery store, operate a fishing boat, or have a tea party. There is a really cool section where... More

We really love this place. Lots to do inside and outside. It's easy to spend a whole day here so we always pack a lunch.

We took our kids there, and it was pretty cool. Lots of different activities inside and out for a wide range of ages. It was clean and well kept. There were several ant hills outside in the yards. The staff was helpful. We used the ACM reciprocal membership from a museum we are members of so it was half price... More

I traveled 2.5 hours to this children's museum the week after Christmas. It was a fun little place to visit. It was clean and well organized. We are members of the children's museum in Jackson so entrance into this museums cost us half price to enter! I even bought my toddler a cute little shirt for $12.00 that has the... More

This place is as unique as they come. I took my 5&6 year old daughters there. They did everything from grocery shopping in a life like grocery store to captain a shrimp boat, and in the first drag pulling the net in , we had enough toy shrimp for a huge gumbo! If you have kids you have got to... More
