Very well laid out , and easy to follow the facts of the battle. Most impressed by the water sculpture which reveals the war battles in chronological order with the size of the corresponding stone relating to the number of casualties in each battle. Very simple, very informative.

We visited the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center specifically for the Grand Illumination. Our time was limited, and we never set foot inside the center itself, so this review is strictly of the Grand Illumination, which takes place just once a year as far as I can tell. The 12,000 luminaries are spread across the entire property, even into the... More

The NPS did an unusually fine job with the interpretive center. The walkway from the park contains common castings of items from the battlefield: rifle butts, canteens, and plates. Then, it changes to boots, hands, covers. As the visitor moves toward the museum, you are moved by those impressions from life (or death). The museum itself uses the words of... More

12,000 luminaries (candle in a bag) was so impressive to show the casualties of the first and second battle of Corinth.. My great grandfather and 3 great uncles in the 2nd Texas were here in 63. The view from the Battery Robinett down the field when they tried to take the battery touched my heart. Such a price they paid... More

The information on the civil war was presented very well and the films were excellent. The facility was very clean and spacious and the exhibits excellent.

While I was familiar with the battle at Shiloh, I hadn't realized it was all about the railroad crossing at Corinth. I thought the exhibit here did a great job of putting the battle in context. The section on the slaves -- war "contraband" -- is something I haven't seen addressed as well art other sites. Once again, we are... More

With the help of rangers at the help desk I was able to reconstruct where my Great Great Grandfather served in the 2nd KY Union Calvary under McCook. They hunted down his actual service record which confirm he was there and was later wounded in Chickamanga! Was so neat to finally find my roots.

I attended one of the anniversary talks with Ranger Timothy and enjoyed it. Great place to take your children because the center is interactive. Make sure to ask for the Junior Ranger books to really get the kids involved.
