We visited Cat Head whilst in Clarksdale and met Roget Stolle, the owner. He is fount of information about the blues, who is playing in which club and what is happening in the area. He also runs a mini-festival outside the shop 2-3 times a year. There is a mix of cd/s books, posters, mojos (all of them working!) and... More

Roger was awesome! So knowledgeable. A true ambassador of the blues! The shop is full of cool things too! A must in Clarksdale

I would not necessarily go out of my way to visit but if you are interested in the blues then you definitely need to stop for the huge collection of books, vinyl(!), cd's, clothing, & "stuff". The main draw is talking to the owner, Roger, who is a wealth of information about the blues, Clarksdale, and the history of both.

We stopped in while driving the Blues Highway. We had heard that this was the place to go. We stopped in, they had some cool stuff but were a little disappointed by the music selection. I would have thought that they would have had more records and cds for sale.

Roger Stolle was everything that the brochures said - warm welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. Its a great shoip with not just records but clothing and art. We bought a poster and a cap and spoke to Roger for about 20 minutes about the history of Clarksdale and also the acts playing in the clubs that night. He's a top guy.

Interesting, eclectic sort of place. A lot to look at and purchase if so inclined. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that obviously take pride in promoting their community. A must see.

This is the best place to go to find out what is going on in Clarksdale and the Delta as far as the Blues goes. Roger can tell you all about all the blues musicians and where to see them. He also sells hard to get cd's and all kind of blues stuff and art. If you are lucky, there... More

Roger should hang a sign outside to advertise as a welcome center. We went there first upon driving into town for a 3-night stay. He was friendly and welcoming, and he filled us in on where to catch live music during a visit. He is a real asset to the community.
