Stopped by for a rest/beer during a long road trip. It was middle of the week and we were the only folks inside. Fun to peruse through tons of old "stuff" that cover the outside grounds and interior walls. Beer was cold and the one...More

The nondescript exterior belies the wonderland of "stuff" to be found inside. Visitors today benefit from the fact that it was run as an antique business for a while, but the owner was more of a collector than a seller. We stopped in on a...More

We checked in for a quick stay at The neighboring Shack Up Inn. After a very long day of travel, it was nice to walk over to Hopson. They had a great musician playing, a complimentary pasta dinner and the beer was ice cold. Looks...More

I went for a visit, but didn’t see any signs that said start the tour here. The place itself looked very interesting and I wish I could have walked the grounds.

Stopped by on our way back from the murals at Tutwiler; had a look around, took a few pics and had a cold beer. We returned at 5 for some live music featuring, believe it or not, Kevin Brown from England and a few more...More

Feels so much more authentic than blues places in major cities, even a different atmosphere than say Ground Zero or Reds in Clarksdale. Enjoy having drinks here with friends, and the shows like Big George Brock are wonderful.

Met Folks at the bar and enjoyed their company at the commissary. The cokes were cold and local info great.

Yes the Shack Up Inn is on the Hobson Plantation......there is another place called the Commissary . Not far from town....both have music events but not every weekend. Always something to do or someone to talk to.
