Having cooked snags and damper on fire-places at over 5,100ft altitude with firewood kindly provided, we did the usual lookouts before doing the more challenging walk to "Weeping Rock". You don't have to do the full circuit form the upper car-park. Just dump the cars...More

Visited Point Lookout for the second year in a row, staying at the 10 bed 'The Residence' Last year it was foggy and damp but this year we could see all the way to the sea. The general consensus was that we preferred the wet...More

Supposedly you're able to see the entire valley light up as the sunrises, but when we went it was cold and foggy. However, despite this seemingly terrible weather we still had a beautiful sunrise!

About 65km east of Armidale, watch for the Point Lookout Road turnoff where a sealed road takes you another 15km to Point Lookout, nestled among the trees and perched 1560m above sea level on the edge of the escarpment. From the car park there are...More

You'll feel like you're on top of the world with these views. Accessed by an easy walk from the car park. Great picnic shelter with fireplace for cold days.
