We have an RV and camp a few times a month at different camp grounds around Minnesota. While spending the weekend at Camp Maiden Rock West, we found this great bike/ hiking trail and road it about 3 miles through the Sakatah Lake State Park...More

The non-electric sites are secluded enough that you do not see your neighbors. We enjoyed the privacy of the space and the full canopy of trees. This truly offered a chance to disconnect and be surrounded by nature. We tried to fish but the wind...More

We were camping across the lake but made a stop at Sakatah Lake SP to complete the 2 mile hiking club trail. This is about our 20th club trail we've completed and it is easily my least favorite; it is very poorly maintained (weeds overgrowing...More

We stayed across the lake and visited for a couple hours one afternoon. Nice park, friendly staff. Couldn't spend much time outside, mosquitos weren't deterred by our Deet. haha!

We went on the Hiking Club Trail. The trail has a lot of variety including a hidden pond, views of the lake (now that most trees have lost their leaves) and many small hills. We only encountered one person on the trail with us.

My wife and I have visited twenty state parks in Minnesota and this one has been the most disappointing. Except for the state trail the other hiking trails throughout the park are not well maintained. My wife always brings a camera to photograph wildflowers, wildlife...More

They have running water & electric by this camp group. Wish they removed all shoreline trees. Overall, the Park was nice.
