Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Easy to reach from the center. Drive or tram + bus.
The palace is breathtaking in the distance or close up. The audio guide is just right to guide you through. Each room has beautiful artwork and decoration, The silk wallpaper, the furniture, all perfect. Easy to navigate, inside and out. Visit about 2 hours.

You must make it to Palazzo Stupinigi if you are in Turin, it is a short drive from the city center. It is an amazing place with many originals room, decorations, furniture, and stunning frescos.

Not too far out of Turin and if you have a car this should be a place on you list
You can now take photos (The signs say no photos) but they really mean no flash - This was confirmed by the people in each room. So take plenty of photos!
Confusing, yes, but that seems to be Italy! :)
Only half of that main building has been renovated, but the main hall is stunningly beautiful and the outside is very grand. It would compete with all but the very best in the Loire and will be even better when finished
12 Euros for an adult - expect to spend about 20-30min

I won’t be writing a long review as really there isn’t much to say: such a huge level of disappointment.
Ticket is expensive, €12, and for that price I expected to be given the chance to properly see the palace.
Only a handful of rooms are open, the garden is closed (maybe because of Covid), for an overall visit that doesn’t last more than 20 mins or so.
If you are in Piedmont for a few days only, do yourself a favour and visit something else.
P.s. I went to visit it with a local, who also was extremely disappointed by the experience.

It is a nice visit well organized; but definitely overpriced; it is not worth more than 5 euro and the entrance is 12. In one hour you have seen what it has to be seen.
In my opinion they are overstaffed and that may explain the price. It is not allowed to take picture.

A beautiful baroque place which was a hunting lodge for the Savoy Dynasty. The palace is adorned with beautiful baroque frescos and nice paintings. You can pick up a self-guided audio tour that explains the contents in each room. The gardens were nice but nothing like Versailles or Schoenbrunn. The palace is a somewhat out of the way and renting a car is the way to go, it is a 30 minute drive from the center of Turin. Overall, visiting the palace was a worthwhile experience.

Interesting timepiece out of Turin history, and its French connection.
Not bad for a hunting lodge, major garden, thought provoking chambers and artwork.
But,... There's no return bus stop, no cabs, furious traffic stretch. Passing bus drivers gesticulate no stop. Brand new Maserati suv scream past wearing trade plates,..must be a factory nearby..eh what's that you say....
Eventually we walked back to nearby village and caught bus back 8kms to city tram.
Worth the travel time.

If time permits, visit the royal hunting lodge Stupinigi. If you only have time for one, then I would choose Venaria over Stupinigi.
Stupinigi was the royal hunting lodge favored by the Savoys, Napoleon and Madame Borghese. Because it was a hunting lodge, it has a different feel and tone than Venaria or the Palazzo Reale. It was more royal country home v dazzling royal palace.
You can take public transportation to Stupinigi from Torino. I had to transfer once, but the bus drivers were nice about assuring I got off at the correct stop. If you take the bus out, there is only one bus stop. Go back to it for your return trip even if the sign only shows one direction.

We went today, it was a sunny winter day, not so terse unfortunately. By car, 20 minutes from the center, as traffic was low being Sunday. We were there just after 10 in the morning. No booking, no parking problems. We didn't take the audio guide, just wandered looking around by ourselves, and it was good. The architecture is splendid. The decor is gorgeous. You can take photos. One hour is enough.

Having visited the other big royal hunting lodge at Venaria Reale I went to Stupinigi with high expectations. Venaria Reale is huge and impressive. After long and thorough renovation works the castle and gardens are now open to the public and anybody visiting will be in awe. That was not how I felt after my visit to the Stupinigi palace. The renovation works have been going on for about 10 years but I guess it will take another 10 to 15 years to complete them. The part that is currently open to the public is about 25% of the castle. A number of rooms have been given back their original splendor but there is still so much more to do. Still, the entrance fee was 12 euro pp and that is a lot certainly when you take into account that there is no access to the gardens. It felt more like contribuiting to the renovation than actually paying an entrance fee.
I'm sure to return in a couple of years, and I'm also sure that I will go for a higher score of 4 or even 5 then. Hopefully future renovation works will als include the lines of houses along the lane leading to the castle. These are in poor shape too and deserve to be preserved as they are part of the grand design of Stupinigi.
