We were just walking downtown and decided to pop in. Loved this museum! Well worth the 5 admission. Learn about north shore mining, logging, and small town life.

It was rainy and this was a great rainy day activity. You enter through the gift shop and pay a $5 entry charge. You start the tour on the bridge of the Laker Frotenac. The ship was damaged beyond repair in a November Story. The windows on the bridge give your a great view of Lake Superior and Two Harbors.... More

Apart from a very good museum, the local tourist train comes to the station around noon (very variable time wise). There's the old iron ore dock down the hill & old tug boat. Old train engines near museum & lighthouse about a mile away. We didn't go into the lighthouse, but the area of rocks in front of it were... More

Museum packed with pictures, information and artifacts of the birth and growth of the area. Exhibits all were well organized. Spent more time here than planned to since it was so interesting. Very reasonable admission for the knowledge they conveyed. Gift shop was small but well appointed as well. Not obvious on the drive through town but well worth seeking... More

Loved this place. It was very pretty. We walked around the trails and it was beautiful. The rocks down by the river entertained kids for hours. The gift shop had cute things also.

My wife and I stopped here on the way through town and were surprised by the Train Depot. A great way to see some old Locomotives and associated support equipment. It was very nice and unexpected to see this great equipment. We also stopped to see the Edna G Tugboat , the Lighthouse and took the path around the area... More

My husband and I stopped at one of the overlooks near the tunnel, silver Creek cliff. We have the opportunity to speak with a local. She called it the best kept secret. It was definitely a spectacular view of Lake Superior. If you are ever on the area, take the time to stop at the "small stops" on the way.... More

Being a history buff I enjoy all things old It was very interesting to see how people went about their daily lives, before all the "modern necessities" That we have to have today.

We actuly parked in Lake view park, and took the foot path, Lake view walk, around the bay, with breath taking views over the bay, and in mid fall, the leaves and surroundings were beautiful. On our way through the trees we came across some grazing deer, which, ignored us completely, so we took the time to take some great... More
