This is a fantastic spot to stop and hike from the lighthouse down to the shore of Lake Superior. Fantastic photo opportunities.

Some fun walking trails to explore on the land around Split Rock Lighthouse. Great to see an iconic MN landmark up close and from different viewing perspectives.

The absolute BEST the North Shore of Lake Superior had to offer. Steeped in history and unbelievable beauty. Park is well managed and even I think it is TAX Money WELL spent.

to me the best place to view it is from the beach area by the picnic grounds in the park south of the lighthouse and along the walking trail. that is where the majority of the pictures are taken. you still need to have the... More

You would need a State Park permit to go hiking in the park. Daily permits are $5 per vehicle.
