The lighthouse and hiking paths were amazingly beautiful. I highly recommend stopping and enjoying both! I was shocked that the living history staff were so cold and shared very little information about the lighthouse even when prompted with questions. They could use more coaching on...More

You do have to pay to enter the lighthouse but it is pretty interesting. It has great views of the North Shore and some nice walking paths. If you are driving up to the lighthouse from Duluth then you can stop at the Split Rock...More

We stopped here on a lighthouse trip up the northshore of Minnesota. This was the BEST one. Nice park too with information center and gift shop. I think there's a $5 vehicle permit at the gate.

I know they charge admission to tour the lighthouse, but can you go here and hike trails and see the outside of the lighthouse without the fee? Is it worth going if you don't want to pay for a whole family to get in the lighthouse?
