We did not visit the lighthouse, but had a great hike on the Day Hill trail. I would describe the hike as easy-moderate difficulty. We took our senior springer spaniels 13 &12. They had a difficult time on the stairs, but otherwise did very well. They enjoyed a nice dip in the lake at the end of the hike. The... More

Simply amazing. Like a step back in time. The tour was an excellent experience, views of the lake were phenomenal, and the photo ops were numerous. We climbed the lighthouse steps to see the light itself, and toured the keepers home. It was well worth the trip.

We toured the lighthouse nearby and then found a wonderful area to have a picnic. Go to the picnic area in the park, then walk to the beach. You will find yourself on a very quiet little bay, with views of Lake Superior and the Split Rock Lighthouse. We thought it was one of the most beautiful sights we saw... More

we visited the lighthouse several times in the past and returned after a six year absence. it may be worth the fee of $10/adult for some, but after experiencing the area for free in the past i cannot agree with the fee charged. i agree with a charge for going inside the lighthouse, but now that there is a new... Even though it rained most of the time I was here, there was still plenty to see and enjoy. Although there is a fee to go up into the tower and explore the keeper's house (museum), it was certainly worth it. Before the rains really hit, I had the chance to take the path from the parking lot down to... More

It's my first time back as an adult and I explored more than I did previously. We walked to the top of the lighthouse and also took the trail down to the lake. The views from the lake are beautiful. The historic home on site was also open with people dressed according to time - lovely, well preserved home for... More

We did not tour the lighthouse because we got there just before they closed, but it also would have been too expensive for our whole family. It was still fun to walk along the shore line and get some pretty views of the lighthouse.

My review: Read all the 4 and 5 star reviews and I would agree with every one of them. This attraction is well worth the money and pretty much warrants my 5 star rating.
