My family has made the hike an annual event for over 20 years. The hike and views are a great summary of the Superior experience. While it would be terrible to build on the Point I alway imagine how great it would feel to awake up every morning with this view. While there is a lot of up and down... More

Wear hiking shoes or athletic shoes. A lot of stairs, but worth it for the view and the environment. Tettegouche State Park is a favorite for camping and hiking on the north shore. The recently remodeled guest services building is very nice! We have been camping and enjoying this park since it opened; as couples, with small kids, teens and... More

This is a very scenic walk, much of it on a boardwalk. Be aware that there are 350 steps involved, so it's not an easy walk. But you do get some good views.

But lots of steps. Wonderful relaxing hikes. Nice gift shop and info center with a picnic area and naturalists on site who lecture on different topics.

The trail was easy to follow and well maintained. There are steps but only a few at a time. The view is with the hike!

This hike was up 300 boardwalk stairs and down 300 but it was an easy climb. You do just a few at a time and there are benches to help you rest along the way. I was able to do this mending from a upper ankle sprang. Minnesota does a great job keeping their trails in great walking order. We... More

This is a great hike for everyone in the family. If you want to try rock climbing, check with the park as they were offering rock climbing the day we were there. Looked like a well organized adventure. The hike itself has lots of steps but easy for anyone who is in relatively good physical condition. And yes, young kids... More

This is a great place for a family hike because it is paved, clean, and you can eat all the berries that you want.

You can get to Shovel Point from the Tettegouche State Park. There are 300+ stairs to get to the top and then another walk after that to get to Shovel Point but it is so worth the walk. What a spectacular view. Worth every sore muscle.
