Certainly smaller than the Minneapolis one is, but it's good enough to get from one area to another. However, sometimes it's easier to just cross the street instead of spending 5 minutes walking through the skyway system...

This is great in the winter and sometimes can be a good shortcut in the hot summer. It is not something to go out of your way for, but if it is on your way you might find some interesting shops that are not a...More

This is a novel way to handle weather/traffic issue to move around the downtown area. I would check the map, as it could be confusing. During the week all of the businesses are open, everything from restaurants, dentists, banks, dry cleaners, shops etc. some hotels...More

St Paul Skyway is really only for during the working week. So far the skyway is ok, been exploring my options for lunch. Came down on a Saturday and everything is closed. I found most food places only open 10-3 around those hours, Mon-Fri.

If you refer to the frequent maps (or print one), this is great way to get around St Paul's downtown area on foot without going out in the cold or rain. Many (if not most) small businesses that cater to downtown workers (coffee shops, lunch...More

Unfortunately there have been many problems lately in the St Paul Skyway with thugs beating people up. That's probably why the doors have been locked at night. Locked doors are problematic for people unfamiliar with the skyway. They expect to re-trace their steps when returning...More

We stayed at the Double Tree Suites and were able to walk the skyway to Wacouta event center for a wedding. I felt pretty safe but we always walked in large groups. It is a blessing to have to not walk out in the cold....More

You can buzz around down from the St. Paul Hotel to the Union Station and other side points of interest without worrying about the weather. A friend and I did this daily while living in lowertown in the Northern Warehouse Artists' Coop.
