Visiting St Paul for 1 day - walked from the Capitol to the cathedral (10 min walk, easy!) and it was a happy surprise to find I could just pop in and have a look. Donations are accepted but there was no entry fee. It was beautiful inside as you would expect. There was one lone chap sat at a desk if you needed to as a question, there were a few people taking photos, all being quiet and respectful. I was only in there for 20 mons taking tome to look at a lot of the details ... so glad I popped in!

My experience at the Cathedral of St. Paul was amazing. Even though we were not able to make it during the open hours, it is still worth the trip. It was beautiful, probably the biggest church I've seen in America.

Really well done US cathedral from an age where cost was no object. You could not duplicate this today. Stunning interiror. Did not take a tour, but wandered around quietly taking photos and just appreciating the beauty of the place. Plentiful parking for those dropping by. Right near the James J Hill house if visting that, and the entirety of Summit Avenue which itself is just something to see.

We visited the state capital building from where we had a nice view of the cathedral. It was an easy walk between the buildings but further than it initially appeared. Entrance could be made from either of the side doors. Inside, you will see large statues of various saints and plenty of stained glass.

The Cathedral of Saint Paul is a magnificent building with stunning Exterior and interior. Enter is free not like some of the Cathedral in Europe & parking is also free. There is a guided tour at 1pm, the guild will explain the several alters plus all the statues of the Saints. The stained glass windows are wonderful and the organ looks very impressive. President JFK attendent masses in this Cathedral there is on a pew with a plate onit.This is a must see while you are in Saint Paul.

We have been to several European cathedrals and the artistry of St. Paul's rivals them even though the age and techniques differ. It is a very large Cathedral with intricate detail. There are many statues, stained glass windows and beautiful materials used to create this masterpiece of craftsmanship.

We visited here as part of a longer road trip. We had parked at the State Capitol building and enjoyed a good walk to the Cathedral. It was great to see the Cathedral initially from a distance and then come closer into view. We only managed a quick visit inside (it was a Sunday and we were just between masses’ but it was enough to see how impressive the church is.

We've visited multiple cathedrals in Europe, and most US ones are much smaller and less impressive by comparison. This one, however, compares well in terms of size and interior and is definitely worth a stop. We parked our car at the lot across the side street (it was a Saturday morning) and the cathedral wasn't quite open yet (I believe it opens at 10 AM?). So we walked the 10 minutes or so to the state capitol building to see it more closely, then back to the cathedral, at which time it was open and free to enter. The interior is large and impressive; we especially enjoyed the designs in the rotunda and the stained glass windows. Even just viewing the exterior would be worth a stop. It was a nice start to a Saturday spent seeing the sights of Minneapolis/Saint Paul.
