The paved walk around the lake is about 3 miles. There are plenty of places to take a rest and for being in the city the scenery is pleasant. Canada geese are frequent in a few places so the pavement can sometimes have some "slick"...More

I used to really like walking around Silver Lake. Not anymore. All the tall weeds planted on thee shoreline keep you from seeing the water and enjoying the view. And the goose poop on the trail is gross. Maybe our great Mayor Ardell should focus...More

Silver Lake is a beautiful place to go. There are a ton of geese and ducks and they are hilarious! Bring some bread along so you can feed them... The views are nice, the atmosphere is calm, it's a great place to come if you...More

Nice place to take a leisurely walk not far from downtown. Just walk some of the walk ways on the back side of the lake where it is nice and quiet. LOTS of migrating birds to observe in the fall.

Always an amazing place to stop for a stroll around the park, feed the geese or just relax. Wear comfortable and older tennis shoes as all these birds leave behind a lot of waste. The restrooms need a update and good cleaning.

We were looking for a small respite to go to during down time from all of our appointments at Mayo Clinic. We chose Silver Lake because we enjoy the outdoors and it was nearby. This place was horrible! The restrooms are disgusting, and there are...More

Though not in the top-tier of locales to visit in Rochester, this venue is peaceful and you may like to look at the geese.

We like to walk around Silver Lake about once a week when we are home visiting in Rochester, Mn. One lap is a little over a mile. A nice path with wild flowers around the lake . Of course, there are always lots of Canadian...More

Yes, they are scheduled to dredge the lake starting this fall. Part of the reason is to improves drainage. A lot of storm runoff goes into this lake and has caused a rise in water level and some flooding.

No cabins. It's not the kind of lake that you vacation on, or fish on. It's more of a side attraction, actually, that you enjoy while you are in Rochester for some other event. Definitely not a lake to build a vacation... More
