A lovely peaceful place to enjoy the views. The place itself is beautiful - modeled after the original Assisi in Italy and overlooking the city. The construction and artisanship that created it are spectacular.

If you've got a little time in Rochester you ought to add a tour of Assisi Heights to your itinerary. It's lovely expanse on the hill is visible from many locations around town. The sisters of St. Francis provide tours, during which you can get details about its history and enjoy the architecture.

It is such a treat having Assisi Heights here in Rochester, MN. The place is so quiet and a wonderful place to get away from any problems to reflect on what is happening. The chapel is so wonderful, like being in Italy. You definitely should take a tour, If you are lucky to be there when the nuns are doing... More

NOT open to the public, except for planned tours. If you have a chance to do a retreat here, you will be blessed. The Sisters are devout and practical, and offer prayers for your stay to be spiritually fulfilling, even though they don't know you. The grounds are for the Sisters, it is not open to the public unless you... More

Have someone in the hospital, for got it was Sunday, Was looking for something to do, thought taking a tour would help us kill some time and release some stress besides learning something. They don't do tours on Sundays because its the sisters home. We understand that just didn't realize it was Sunday. YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO BE SO RUDE

When there, take time out to see this beautiful building and establishment. Franciscans sisters responsible in 1800's after tornado to encourage Mayo Brothers to help build St. Mary's Hospital. Has a gift shop. One Franciscan makes own honey and sells there. Gives tours only on Monday's and Saturdays.

We attended 2 weeks of meetings here. Food was lovely, and the rooms were bright and airy. Nice that they were all on one level too. Would highly recommend.

I participated in two days of workshops at Assisi Heights. This is a Franciscan Sisters mother house. It is very big and sits on top of the highest hill in Rochester with great views all around. They have one floor set up with meeting rooms. Nice electronics, LCD projector and computer to drive it. Motorized screens and white boards. Comfortable... More
