Statue situated in a lovely park overlooking New Ulm. Charge of $3 to climb to the top for a good view. The monument is impressive for the size of the town.

Awesome view from atop monument....only $3.00 for entry. The surrounding park has picnic tables, bathrooms, and a very new playground for the kids.

Built in 1888 the statue of Hermann the great Cheruscan overlooks lovely New Ulm. He’s iron with a copper overlay. You can climb the spiral staircase for a fabulous view of New Ulm and the surrounding farmland. It’s an important piece of German-American history!

I really like towers, but this one didn’t feel as safe as say Coit Tower in San Francisco, Astoria Tower in Oregon, or the Vulcan in Birmingham. Those were just better. This one was overrated.

Amazingly large monument honoring German heritage. Second only in size to the Statue of Liberty! 99 step climb for the lovely view of the valley.
